SoloFreedom ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information when you use solofreedom.org ("the Service").
Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, and a hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
Payment information: Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full billing details on our servers. We may store a Stripe customer ID and subscription ID to manage your account status.
Usage data: We track the number of analyses you've performed to enforce free tier limits. For anonymous (non-logged-in) visitors, we assign a device identifier stored in your browser's local storage to track usage. This identifier is a random string and does not contain any personal information.
Audio data: Audio you record or upload is processed entirely in your browser. Your audio is never sent to our servers, never stored, and never shared with any third party. All audio analysis happens locally on your device using the Web Audio API.
Transactional email: If you request a password reset, we send an email to your registered address using Resend as our email delivery provider. Resend processes your email address solely for the purpose of delivering that message.
We use the information we collect to provide and maintain the Service, process payments and manage your subscription, enforce usage limits on the free tier, send transactional emails (password resets, account confirmations), and improve the Service based on usage patterns.
We do not collect or store your audio recordings. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising purposes. We do not collect location data, device fingerprints, or browsing history beyond what is described in this policy.
We use the following third-party services that may process your data in accordance with their own privacy policies:
Stripe (stripe.com) for payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies to all payment-related data.
Resend (resend.com) for transactional email delivery. Resend processes your email address solely for delivering password reset emails.
MongoDB Atlas (mongodb.com) for database hosting. Your account data is stored on MongoDB Atlas infrastructure.
Render (render.com) for backend hosting.
Netlify (netlify.com) for frontend hosting.
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, including password hashing with bcrypt, encrypted connections via HTTPS, and secure token-based authentication. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will remove your personal data from our systems within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it. Anonymous device usage records contain no personally identifiable information and may be retained indefinitely.
You have the right to access, update, or delete your personal information. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@solofreedom.org. If you are located in the European Economic Area, you may have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
The Service is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete that information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
